Welcome to the Wings of Eternia II blog! See, here I can actually type stuff and have people read it, unlike youtube where people tend to overlook the description box. Anywho, this blog is of course about Wings of Eternia II. Here, you'll get the main info on what's going down with the project and you'll be well more informed then any other place I usually post info/videos about WoE II.
That's right, you can now choose who you want to control during battle. Also now you can choose how your allies will act in battle. Now, some of you might be confused as to why I have the option "Do nothing." Well, for those who are brave enough you can also solo the game. You don't always have to have a full party! So if you wanted to have a good fight you could always fight a boss alone as Mihli, Irina, Levin or the other characters who are soon to be announced.
Also, there will be a friendship system where if you get certain cut scenes, you might be able to unlock side quests later down the road. So make sure you chat it up with your favorite characters when in town. You won't regret it!
In the video, that's the first town you start off in. Better get used to it because you stay there for awhile. I made sure to make it feel like a community so it wasn't so robotic.
Now on to the main cast of Wings of Eternia II that you can play as:
Mihli Weapon: Hand-to-Hand Element: Fire/Light Teams with: Levin, Irina, *Marianne
Levin Weapon: Dagger/Swords Element: Light/Earth Teams with: Mihli, Rogetter, *Sierra
Irina Weapon: Board Element: Wind/Water Teams with: Mihli
Rogetter Weapon: Guns Element: Ice/Dark Teams with: Levin, *Jacque
*Must be unlocked first.
Extra/Cameo Characters:
Marianne Weapon: Sword/Shield Element: Fire Teams with: Sierra, Mihli
Sierra Weapon: Sword - Dual Element: All-Around Teams with: Levin, Marianne
Jacque Weapon: Guns Element: None Teams with: Rogetter
More to come~
Now you must be thinking "What does he mean by 'teams with'?" well, in WoE II you can perform team attacks when the conditions are right. Max people you can have in the party is 3, and 1 guest. So make sure you choose who you team up with wisely and make sure to try all combos and see which moves you like best!
Now on to the skill learning system.
In WoE II, you start off with a set of moves: 1 Melee 1 Magic (2 for Irina in exchange for not having a healing spell) 1 Support (2 for Rogetter in exchange for not having a healing spell) 1 Healing (Irina and Rogetter don't have healing spells) 1 Enfeeble
As you fight, you'll get CP (Crimsas Points) and once you get a certain way into the story you'll be able to spend them to upgrade their skills. So just because Irina might start out being a mage, with the CFS and CP you could turn her into a melee. Though she might be better off being a mage.
Changes in the battle system:
*Team attacks (already went over this)
*Targeting: Now you fight multiple monsters at once. 2 new buttons will be configured, so in battle you can select which monster you want to target.
*Battle Maps: This is really more for me then it is for you. This way I only have to program a monster once and not have to copy paste and change variables/switches for EVERY MONSTER.
*Monster's HP % will now be displayed in the lower right hand corner of the screen during battle.
*New formulas to help balance out the higher stats.
*Option to run away.
Mock battle outline!
Alrighty, I think that's it for now. Stay tuned as I'll be updating often!
